Windows 10: Screen Flickering on AC Power - Windows 10

My screen is extremely flickering/ blacking out when on power. I have a Lenovo Ideapad 710s with a Intel Graphics 620 display adapter. When I roll back the display adapter to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter the problem almost entirely vanishes, but still flickers very occasionally on power.


I have tried the solutions here : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12374/windows-10-troubleshoot-screen-flickering and had no success. I also tried changing the refresh rate of the screen and there were no other options but 60Hz for both on power and on battery.


Other things to note, it only seems to happen when CPU usage is above moderate (> 40-50%) . I have a dual boot with Ubuntu, this issue does not occur at any point on that OS.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand your query. I suggest you to follow the steps to get out of safe mode.

• 
  Press Windows key + R
  
• 
  Type msconfig
  
• 
  In msconfig > Boot tab >
  Boot Options > uncheck Safe Boot > APPLY / OK.
