Windows 10: Screen gets pixelated and freezes

Since this morning my pc has begun to get stuck on either the motherboard screen or the welcome screen after turning on, either pixelated on the motherboard screen or tearing like the pictures show. This morning I had been using the pc and while it was on I got a bsod without warning. After it had finished gathering information and restarted it only managed to stay fine for around 3 minutes after which he froze on the spot and started showing the blue pixels like in the motherboard image. I waited around 30 seconds but since it wasn't shutting down on its own I eventually shut it down myself.T

Windows 10 Aniversary - Pixelated Screen

Hi,

I realize that after the Anniversary update you are getting randomly weird pixelated screens. I will try to help you with this issue.

As the issue is occurring after waking up the PC from sleep mode, let us try these steps to check if that helps.

You may run the Power troubleshooter and restart the computer to check if this helps.

• 
  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.
  
• 
  Click on “Troubleshooting”.
  
• 
  Click on “View all” and select “Power”.
  

Follow the on-screen directions to run this troubleshooter completely. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

Further you may also follow these steps to reset all default power plans to default settings:

• 
  Open a command prompt.
  
• 
  In the command prompt, type “powercfg –restoredefaultschemes” and press Enter.
  
• 
  Close the command prompt.
  

Remember to restart the computer to check if that helps.

Screen Freezing up

Andre, thanks for your suggestions. I performed all steps as you listed and it appears that there were

some problems that have been corrected. I will let you know in a day or so if the "freeze" problem

occurs again. Many thanks for your help --- this took longer than I expected!
