    Screen goes black on one screen when I open Chrome, Discord, etc. on my other monitor.


    Require assistance. My screen goes dark-greyish when I open something on a seperate screen. My taskbar shows, but the other 95% of my screen just goes grey instead of showing desktop. Happened before dual monitors, how do I fix it. Thank you. (It doesn't hinder any performance or capability to do anything, it's quite simply annoying.)

    Monitor goes black when opening programs and web browser

    My monitor has started to go black if I open Microsoft Outlook, IE, Word, Google Chrome. If I turn the monitor off and back on again I see the screen for about a second and it goes black again. If I close my browser during the second I see the screen then it remains on OK. When I boot up as long as I do not open up a program the monitor is fine. I can open file manager and navigate between folders with no issues. Then if I open up Outlook I get the screen going black again. Any help much appreciated. I do not have another monitor to try but as said earlier it is fine when I boot up and do not open any programs so I think the monitor is ok. Regards

    It is possible that your screen goes black may be due to a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down. To isolate your issue, we'd like to gather more information:

    • Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
    • Did you get any error messages when it turns black?
    • Have you tried checking if the sleep mode is turned on/off?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Cant install the drivers.. What good is safemode?

    I dont know what to do. Hopefully someone can help me here. Could it be the gpu causing the black screen in normal boot windows?
