    Screen Goes Completely Black for 3-5 Seconds when Going Full-screen


    I have recently just built a new PC and reinstalled windows twice. The first time it was installed, I did not have this problem with the exact same games I am playing right now, so I know that my physical PC is not the problem. In short, every time I want to go full-screen for some games or change a display setting, my screen goes completely black for a few seconds. The reason why I absolutely cannot stand this is because I always have to tab out of my game onto Discord to reply to msgs or accept calls from people etc. , and when I mean always, I mean about every 3 minutes... In some cases this has lead to me losing my game just because I wasn't able to tab back in quick enough as I physically cannot do anything while the black screen is there. Please give any input you can as I'm not really not in the mood to reinstall windows for the 3rd time... I have tried changing my radeon settings and changing my monitor refresh rate but I cannot do that as there is only a 60hz option and nothing else.

    When I playing a game, on my laptop (Windows 10), my screen goes black for about 3 seconds, then goes back on.

    Don't know how to stop that

    It is possible that your screen goes black may be due to a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down. To isolate your issue, we'd like to gather more information:

    • Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
    • Did you get any error messages when it turns black?
    • Have you tried checking if the sleep mode is turned on/off?
