Windows 10: Screen goes dim after restart/shut down

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic, I tried my best to pick the correct one-!


So like the subject says, my screen goes dim when I shut down my laptop and open it again, or if I restart it.

It doesn't really look like the brightness went down, more as if the contrast was increased and the colours got darker sorry if that doesn't make sense-. Edit: should probably clarify, the laptop screen shows darker colours but the amount of light being released does not change. So the screen becomes darker but it does not look like the brightness went down.


Usually to fix this, I just have to wait 5-10 minutes and it goes back to normal by itself, or I have to use "Calibrate Display Colour" and then move any of the sliders and then it immediately goes back to normal so then I just hit cancel and it's fine.


This doesn't really bother me, I just wanted to know what's going on so that I could maybe fix it. It might be my laptop display and not Windows itself because if I take a screenshot or so, the screenshot looks normal and doesn't have the "dim" version like what I see. But if it's not Windows them I'm not really sure how calibrating display colour fixes it.


I tried looking everywhere on the internet for a solution but it seems like no one else has this problem. This might have started with a certain update or so but I'm not sure. Any help?

Weird screen dimming issue.


For the last few weeks I've had this bizarre issue where my screen will randomly dim. I can't click on anything when this happens.. The only way to fix it, is to either restart my computer or re-log.

Any suggestions?

 

How to dim screen?

I tried googling Windows Ten, "how to dim screen," but the layout listed is not the layout I have. I just got Ten yesterday. How do you dim the screen?

I can't even find the options in the Display section.
