Windows 10: Screen is dim after waking up from sleep. I am on a laptop

Whenever I open the lid of my laptop the screen is very dim, and I must spam the power button until my screen goes back to normal.

ASUS Laptop Won't Wake from Sleep Mode

Problem: about 80% of the time, my laptop won't wake up from sleep mode via keyboard press or mouse move/click. I seem to be missing many common features in power plan too, even after fresh Windows 10 install.

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Reinstalled Windows 10 (clean)
2. Updated all drivers
3. Replicated on multiple Windows 10 versions, updates
4. BIOS latest version
5. No USB devices attached, ever. Only USB-C power and bluetooth mouse
6. Disabled "fast startup" in control panel

 

Windows dim screen before automatically going to sleep option

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how I can have my laptop (preloaded with Windows 10 from manufacturer) dim its screen before automatically going to sleep after being idle for a set amount of time so I can easily wake it back up. What I mean is similar as to how
our phones will dim just before going to sleep if it's idle for some time with the user being able to touch it from preventing it from going into that sleep mode. Any help would appreciated.

 

Screen dim after waking from sleep

Recently I have been finding that when I wake my laptop from sleep, the screen is set to minimum brightness, even though it was at maximum brightness when I put it to sleep. I've only been having this problem recently — before that I was using Windows 10 without running into this problem. It's an annoyance rather than a catastrophic malfunction, but it is starting to annoy me quite a lot. How can I get the machine to wake with the same brightness as when I put it to sleep?

I've got a Lenovo Yoga 710 with Intel Graphics (plus NVidia graphics as well).
