    Hello all,Laptop in question is a 2019 Razer blade advanced 15".For as long as I remember, my laptop has had this issue with the screen. Every time I close the lid of my laptop and then open it and wake it, I will eventually have this problem.This problem does not occur if I just turn on my laptop and use it, ONLY after closing the lid or have it go into a sleep mode.After opening the lid the interface will behave normally but then about 5 minutes later it will do a momentary maybe 1-2 sec flicker to black screen and then back to normal. This will then occur again in about 2-3 minutes and re

    How to force shutdown on laptop lid close ?

    Hi,
    I want to force a shutdown when the user close the laptop lid even if MSWord is open and the document was not saved.
    Any suggestion ?

    UPDATE:

    I connected an external monitor and the flickering was constrained to my laptop display only, no issues on the external monitor. Therefore, I concluded the problem is not incompatible apps, but rather more serious problem with the laptop screen, inverter,
    etc. To use the external monitor with the laptop lid closed, I changed the settings for "What happens when I close the lid?" from hibernation to do nothing. While I didn't notice right away, but the screen flickering stopped. So about a week ago I disconnected
    the external monitor and the laptop's screen has not flickered. Does this make sense?

    I'll keep external monitor just in case.

    It appears that your laptop hibernates when you close its lid. This feature terminates running processes on your machine since it allows the system to use very little power. If
    Do nothing is already selected for Choose what closing the lid does
    in Power Options, let's try to make hibernation unavailable. Follow these steps:

    • Right-click on the Windows icon on your home screen.
    • Select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Click Yes if you get a prompt window.
    • Type powercfg.exe /hibernate off then press Enter.
    See if this will prevent the laptop from hibernating when you close the lid.

    Let us know how it turns out.
