  2. Problems with Win 10 HDMI Resolution

I am using my Dell 3020 micro connected ONLY to my Samsung TV. Windows 7 worked perfectly with the display port to HDMI cable. Windows 10 "oversizes" the screen at HDMI resolutions to the point the desktop icons are partially off the screen. This makes
    it almost unusable.

  3. E72 SCREEN TOO SMALL

    Hello.

On my home screen on the E72 the words (ie MENU, CONTACTS etc) are partially cut off height wise.

I have reduced all the font sizes to standard but still on my home screen the letters/ numbers for the time seem cut down in height, is this normal?.

    Thanks

Are you using the native resolution of your monitor ?

    1360 x 768 is a PC resolution for a 720p monitor.

What is the 1680 x 1050 resolution you have in your specs ? What is that about ?

Please post a manufactureres link to the monitor you are trying to use.

the 1680x1050 was my old monitor which gave up just over 5 months ago.. ive thus resorted to using this monitor which is native 1360x768. also i doubt youd be able to find a manufacturers link.. its a luxor model number lux-22-822-cob

im still needing assistancing in figuring this issue out...

i would get a DVI to VGA adapter to see if things go back to normal but so far not really wanting to put money into something that will become useless if it doesn't work.

native resolution for the monitor is 1360x768 however when i set it all back to default including windows settings its just slighly zoomed in and the overall display being cut off. so pretty much overscan. but when i go to resize via the nvidia control panel. its giving me 1804x1014. which im now starting to see refresh rate issues. mostly horizontal distortions on anything that moves quick on screen.

That is a TV with a native resolution of 1366 x 768. Mr Google says that anyway...
That is a standard resolution so it should work.

TVs used as a monitor are less flexible as to what they can use as an input, but it should be OK.

There should be a setting for PC use, go through the menus.

Set the Nvidia driver to 1366 x 768 60 Hz should basically work, though you will need to fiddle with TV settings to find some sort of PC input settings.
I can't locate a manual for that one. If you have the manual it should tell you the native resolution.

It is basically over scanning. You can also try switching them on in a different order.

I once had a Laptop and TV that needed to be switched on in the right order, to get it right, which is why it's worth a try.

You can also try small changes with customised settings in the Nvidia driver, if you know what you are doing.

screen not properly scaling on HDMI (partially cut off)

Agree with the above advice A lot of LCD panels used for TV are set up to over scan to remove problem areas at the extreme edge of a broadcast image.

This is great for TV images and only effects the outer edges of the screen but can lead to computer generated pure digital being displayed missing a small amount of data at the edge

Some TV/Graphic card Controls allows this effect to be switched off or reduced, some even automatically remove the Overscan automatically if you select a PC/Computer input device as a source.

All this depends on the hardware involved, and as always, more expensive hardware is more likely to have the control required, so check the manual for the TV and nVidia help for your Card to check what is possible. the fix applied to the output is better that adjusting the Card in my experience
