Screen Orientation Flipped and missing Windows Microsoft Store App

    Lenovo Yoga c930

    Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 Build 19041.388

I had my yoga in tent mode and left it on while I got some breakfast this morning; when I took it out of tent mode the screen would not rotate to normal landscape. I manually put the screen back into the normal landscape and then went about using it. I turned off the laptop and came back later; The screen was in inverted landscape again... the only way that I can get it to any other setting is to lock the rotation and manually set it.

I've looked at the regedit, the services, and the drivers: They are all normal. I've run the chkdsk, DSIM, and SFC scans: nothing. I tried a restore point; it didn't work. I restored the system: Lost the Microsoft Store App. Performed a factory reset in hopes of fixing both problems. Spent Hours doing everything and I mean following all of the fixes to get the Store App back: Simple fix if the files are completely deleted from your system open the Xbox app and there you can reinstall the Microsoft Store App. But still if I disable the rotation lock the screen goes back to inverted landscape.... Does anyone know how to fix this?

    :)

Microsoft is purging a lot of low quality apps from the Windows Store

"Microsoft is sending emails to some Windows Store developers informing them that their apps have been removed from the Store for violating its quality standards."

"Neowin reports that app developers have been receiving these emails over the past couple of days:

In its latest review of the Store, Microsoft is evaluating if the published apps are good enough to be listed in the Windows Store. This includes publicly available apps as well as private beta apps. Additionally, Microsoft is also asking developers to delete any promotional campaigns for their apps to prevent advertising charges. Similarly, app name reservations are also being nullified; which means that if your app is unpublished, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to republish it under the same name.

Officially, the policies for the Microsoft Store says that apps must have "distinct and informative metadata" and "provide a valuable and quality user experience". There are also some specific standards that must be in the apps, including having a name that is not similar to another app or device, along with offering a description that is accurate about its features and functions.

There have certainly been many Windows Store users who have complained over the years about the large number of apps published that are clones of other apps or ones that are simply poorly made. Hopefully, this new move by Microsoft will help to curb these issues, at least for now.

  3. Screen Orientation

    Hi Vincent,

There are shortcut keys that can be used to rotate your desktop view. One of those is
CTRL + ALT + Up arrow key. To set the desktop to its normal view, please follow the steps below:

    • Right click on your desktop and select Display
      settings.
    • Highlight the screen you want to change (if you have multiple monitors) and change
      Orientation between Landscape and Portrait.
    • To flip the screen, select Landscape (flipped) or
      Portrait (flipped).

Should you have further questions, please let us know.

    Hi,

There's an option on Windows 10 to switch between landscape and portrait orientation. We recommend following these steps on how to switch the screen orientation from portrait to landscape:

    • On Cortana search, type display settings.
    • Choose Display settings from the list.
    • Under Orientation, select on Landscape and click
      Apply.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
