Windows 10: Screen orientation randomly goes into portrait mode while the screen is attached,

I can fix it by going into settings an changing it but it is really annoying as the rotation lock key is greyed out. How do I stop this happening please. There's an option on Windows 10 to switch between landscape and portrait orientation. We recommend following these steps on how to switch the screen orientation from portrait to landscape:

• On Cortana search, type display settings.
• Choose Display settings from the list.
• Under Orientation, select on Landscape and click
  Apply.

Problem with orientation of mouse pointer when in portrait mode

Whenever I rotate my screen, Say from Landscape to portrait, then the mouse pointer's orientation also changes to that of portrait mode. Is there any way that I can keep the orientation of the mouse pointer as in landscape
mode, howsoever the screen is rotated. This is because many times I have to work in portrait mode but the mouse orientation does not allow me to move my mouse accordingly.

 

Surface registry key to set screen orientation to Portrait

Hi Experts

How do I disable the autorotation and set the screen orientation to 'Portrait' on a Surface tablet? In the 'Screen Resolution' settings the orientation is set to 'Portrait' and the 'Allow the screen to auto-rotate' is de-selected. However after a reboot
the screen still auto-rotates (even thought the auto-rotate is still de-selected' and the screen is not in 'Portrait' mode if the Surface is placed in 'landscape'.

I have checked the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation and can see that the Enable DWORD value is set to 0. I can see that the value toggles if selecting or de-selecting the 'Allow the screen to auto-rotate'
option is changed.

Is there any registry key that will permanently disable the auto-rotate function and keep the screen orientation fixed to 'Portrait' - even after a restart?
