Windows 10: Screen resolution seems to be split

Ok so recently i started using a tv as a monitor using as DVI to HDMI adapter since my laptop did not have a HDMI port. It was working just fine until something weird happened. The default resolution of my tv and laptop is 1280x720 and today when i got onto the computer the screen on the tv did not seem like 1280x720. I checked all display settings that there is and it says that it is 1280x720 but it did not seem like 1280x720. So i went onto one these websites that tells you your resolution and on the website it said the screen resolution was 640x360. 1280x720 divided by 2 is 640x360 so somehow the resolution got divided by 2. Can anyone help me change the resolution back to 1280x720. *****Keep in mind in all the display settings it says that the resolution is 1280x720 but it actually is 640x360*****

Firstly, try to install all the available Windows Updates and check if it fixes the issue.

I suggest you to change the screen resolution settings and check if it fixes the issue. Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key and type Change Screen Resolution and click on the option listed.
• Under resolution try changing the resolution settings.

Also try to install the latest drivers from the manufacturer website and check.

I suggest you to update the Display Adapter Drivers

Step 1: Update the Display Adapter driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update driver software.

Step 2: Please follow the below steps to change the resolution of the screen and check:

• Type Change screen resolution in the
  Search box from the desktop.
• Under Resolution search for the Recommended resolution and click on
  Apply.
• A windows pops up saying "Keep these display settings", then select
  Keep changes.
