Windows 10: Screen Resolution Vertically Stretched

hey, so recently I decided to switch my computer resolution to 1440x1080 to get stretched resolution on a game, and I decided to keep it as my normal computer resolution for a week because I played the game a lot.


after this week, I tried to switch back to 1920x1080 my recommended resolution aka my original one and it is stretched out vertically. I have no idea what caused this but I think my computer thinks that 1440x1080 is my native resolution? I have tried everything, even a factory reset but the resolution is still corrupted.


I would really appreciate some help on this because it also puts me at a disadvantage when playing games.

Screen Resolution Stretched

One evening my monitor went black and came back up immediately but the screen was stretched and icons large. I was able to adjust the icons but the screen was stretched. None of the screen resolution options have any affect on correcting the problem. Looking

Hi, I tried updating to AMDs Crimson edition which had the resolution you recommended-1366x768 but the display was still stretched vertically. I hope you are aware my monitor's aspect ratio is 4:3. Also the display resolutions offered are all 32 bit and
I have a 64 bit system. I was also unable to find any compatibility mode tab to try that. Windows continues to tell me that all hardware and software is working fine. Thanks, Gary.

I was attacked by malware with windows 8.1. I did a fresh install on a new c drive with windows 10 on a Dell xps core i7 system. I have an AMD Radeon R9 270 card and a 2004 Dell 20inch Ultrasharp flat panel display which worked fine with 8.1. No matter
what resolution I click , my display is stretched vertically. I was able to update the driver for the AMD card but no change.
