Windows 10: Screen saver set to display photos from a folder is showing documents from other folders...

My screensaver is set to show photos. I have selected a folder in documents that contains several personal pictures in subfolders. When the screensaver runs, it is also showing documents from non related folders such as my COVID vaccination card and templates from my desktop. How do I get it to only show the desired photos?

This is how to set photos as your screensaver:

Step 1: Open Settings app. Navigate to Personalization > Lock Screen.

Step 2: Scroll down the Lock Screen settings page to see Screensaver settings link. Click Screen Saver settings link to open the classic Screen Saver Settings dialog.

Step 3: From the list of screensavers available, choose Photos from the drop-down dialog.

Step 4: By default, Windows 10 uses photos saved in the Pictures folder for the screensaver. If you want to change this location, click the Settings button to open Photos Screen Saver Settings dialog.

Step 5: Click the Browse button, select a folder and then click Ok button. Click Apply.

Note: If there are sub-folders under the selected folder, photos in subfolders will be used for screen savers as well. This may help since you want all of your photos to rotate.

You can have as many pictures as you like rotating and if you want to change them, just select a different folder or add and remove as desired to the existing folder.

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

screen saver set to ''photos'' but photo shows and soon reverts to a black screen showing an error message.

Hi, I have my screen saver set to ''photos'' , I chose a folder with only one photo in it.

When the screen saver comes on after 10 minutes idle time the photo shows but soon reverts to a black screen showing an error message. When I move the mouse the screen saver program disengages and my screen is back to my computer.

Any ideas?

Its as if windows is on some kind of slide show and because only one photo exists in the folder it is searching for a next photo.
