Windows 10: Screen saver tries to start during videos

When watching a full-screen video, my screen saver slide show tries to start. It blacks out the screen and the pictures start showing after a few seconds. That didn't happen with my XP and Windows 7 installations. Any ideas as to what's happening?

screen saver won't showup after restart

I've tried all the MS Help but to no avail. The screen saver (no matter which one is chosen) will not start after the time setting in the screen saver properties. The screen saver will start manually. This situation was not present in 8.1, all screen savers
worked fine in 8.1

 

Windows 10 screen saver not working

when my screen saver starts it says I need to update my video card and that it is not Direct 3D compatible. Windows always updates and my graphics AMD Radeon always updates so I presume I am fully updated but I get that message on the screen saver. Have
I a graphics problem or does the screen saver need some type of adjustment?

 

Usually the media player program disables screensaver when watching a video. Have a look at the settings for something relevant. I usually disable screensaver to avoid such issues.

 

My Windows Media Player doesn't have the "allow screen saver during playback" box checked. Any other ideas?

 

Until you find what's wrong, you can manually disable screensaver during video watching, then enable it again. I have it always disabled to avoid such issues.

 

I'll try that and meanwhile I hope someone else has an idea too.
