Windows 10: Screen Sharing

Hey so maybe this is the wrong place to be asking this, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I was recently trying to screenshare my Lenovo laptop with my FireTV and it has consistently failed. Specifically, the FireTV will respond as if it has made contact with my laptop but then the connection will fail before completion for some reason. I've done everything I can think of: made sure that my laptop could find and be found by devices on the same network, downloaded the wireless display feature, and checked if my display drivers needed to be updated and nothing has worked. Cannot access shared network drive

I could scream! so much time wasted on this stupid error, as if time is not precious enough!
It probably would work fine if I could see the other computer! But I cannot see the other computer!
