Windows 10: screen shot folder stays open and is frozen

I took a screen shot using my key board about three days ago. I've turned my computer on and off since and it stills appears. The screen shot folder stays open and is frozen I can not choose anything from the file folder to change the screen shot folder. I can not open or close any thing in my files. AT the bottom of the page is says sync pending. How do I escape and close this page? I've tried alt/delete/esc but nothing happens.

file folder-Screen shots

Awhile back I took some screen shots using windows PrtSc, They saved into: this pc>pictures>screen shots, I found them there several times. Then this afternoon I go to find them and cannot, only 16 of my screen shots are in this folder. I did not delete the majority of pictures. Where can I find them?

I do not have OneDrive set up on my PC, which was a suggestion I saw on similar questions.
