Windows 10: Screen stays blank after system wakes up

I bought my new Dell laptop with Windows 11 in November and all worked fine at first but recently the screen stays blank / black after the system wakes up after sleep mode or when I reopen the laptop after a period of inactivity. I can only get it to work again by pressing the power button for several seconds.I've tried re-setting the power plan to the default setting but that didn't work.I read on the MS forum that it might be something to do with an updated display driver and that I should try "rolling it back". Stay in sleep and wake with spacebar

Hi, you can disable hibernation if you wish:
Enable or Disable Hibernate in Windows 10

This depends what devices are able to wake your PC. You can list these:

Powercfg /devicequery /.......
Description:
Returns a list of devices that meet the specified criteria.

Parameter List:
<QUERYFLAG> Specifies one of the following criteria:

wake_from_S1_supported ....Return all devices that support waking the system
from a light sleep state.
wake_from_S2_supported ....Return all devices that support waking the system
from a deeper sleep state.
wake_from_S3_supported ....Return all devices that support waking the system
from the deepest sleep state.
wake_from_any ......................Return all devices that support waking the system
from any sleep state.
S1_supported List devices supporting light sleep.
S2_supported List devices supporting deeper sleep.
S3_supported List devices supporting deepest sleep.
S4_supported List devices supporting hibernation.
wake_programmable List devices that are user-configurable to wake
the system from a sleep state.
wake_armed List devices that are currently configured to
wake the system from any sleep state.
all_devices Return all devices present in the system.

Examples:
POWERCFG /DEVICEQUERY wake_armed

• Are you able to boot the device to desktop with black screen from sleep mode?
• From when are you facing this issue?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message with this issue?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated display drivers on your computer.

on August 7, 2015 and check if it helps you to resolve the issue.

If you are not able to boot the device to lock screen refer to: Blank or black screen before sign-in

If you are able to access/ boot the device to lock screen and then black screen issue occurs refer to:

Black screen after sign-in and you can see a mouse cursor

Try the troubleshooting steps mentioned accordingly.
