Windows 10: Screen stretched on my extended display which is a regular TV screen

I was just cleaning my laptop while it was on, foolish of me I'm told and the next thing I know is that display on my extended screen is stretched. I have tried the usual solutions such as1. checked display properties for resolution recommended 2. Updated windows and restarted3. checked update for display driver Nothing has worked so far. Can anyone please help me? Thank you in advance

Project to a second screen (duplicate displays) - how do I stretch the second screen?

Simple really. I have a Surface Pro 3 and with the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, how do I make the second screen (a Samsung TV) stretch the image automatically.

If I change res on the surface to around 1600 x 900, it sort of fits.

If I extend or second screen only, it sort of fits (good enough for Netflix).

Any suggestions?

My display screen suddenly stretched without my doing anything. All apps are now stretched, what was circular is now oval.
