Windows 10: Screensaver error: "An error is preventing this slideshow from playing"

I've had my screensaver set up on Windows 95, ME, 7, and 10 the same way and it's worked great. However, when I updated to Windows 11, the screensaver no longer works correctly. I set the screensaver to use images on shuffle from a folder with thousands of images. Previously, it would pull the first image in the folder, then shuffle through the rest. I have about 27,000 images in this folder.Made sure in Power Settings -> Slideshow is Enabled.With this setup, I get the error below. Tried setting the screensaver time to different times - 1 min, 5 min. Same error.If I reduce the size of the f

Screensaver stops working - error preventing slideshow from playing

I have a specific folder in my pictures which I play screensaver slideshow from. My computer will play slideshow for a while (sometimes a few minutes, sometimes 10 minutes), then I get the following message: An error is preventing this slideshow from playing.

I see that this is a ridiculously common occurrence (going back at least to Win 7), but I have yet to find a solution. I've tried multiple suggestions that I've come across while looking into this, but nothing has worked.

Does anyone know of a solution for this? Or, if no solution, are there any good (free) screensaver programs out there I can use to play my pictures in a slideshow?

Hi, I have a specific folder in my pictures which I play screensaver slideshow from. My computer will play slideshow for a while (maybe 5 or 10 minutes), then I get the following message (white font on a black screen): An error is preventing this slideshow from playing.

How can I fix this and TIA.

Could there be an error/corruption of a particular file in that Folder? Or maybe there's a file that the slideshow simply can't play, wrong type or format? There's a bunch of .ini files on the HDD and can't be used, also the .thn/Thumbnail files might be a problem.
