The short: When taking a screenshot on my windows device Surface Pro 9, the screenshot is copied to my clipboard but does not appear on my Samsung S20 clipboard. The details:I have used Phone Link/Link to Windows for years without much issue. I use it with my old Surface 2 running Windows 10 and with my current Surface Pro 9 running Windows 11. With both computers and my current Samsung Galaxy S20 I have always been able to take a screenshot on my laptop Windows+Shift+S and have it appear on my Samsung S20 clipboard to be pasted into various apps i.e. Messages, Signal, OneNote, etc.. This

    :)

no (samsung) connected mobile phone in the device list.

when I connect my (samsung) mobile phone to my W10 desktop PC I only see "MTP" device when looking to a device list.

On my laptop it comes in the drive list and I can access the phone. I seem to miss drivers.

    What can I do?

    Windows uodates autonaticly

Device Encryption - Turn On or Off for Windows 10 Mobile Phone

thanks for the tip. yes, the phone did ask if I wanted to set a pin. I tried my tests with the pin set and without a pin set. no difference.

it took a while, but I finally got this new update installed.

    alas, same pathology:
    • with a local Device Encryption toggled On, no dialog, no change in Storage status
    • with an activesync policy from Google Sync (Google for Work), the Requires Encryption policy is ignored by the device, so the toggle remains Off, yet the device seems to be reporting back to the server that encryption is activated because the data is syncing with the servers
    • with a native Office Enterprise that has a Requires Encryption policy, the settings toggle is moved to On and greyed out so the user cannot disable, the data is syncing immediately, yet the Storage settings do not indicate that the device is encrypted.

last thing. with windows 8.1r2, the Office Enterprise did seem to set the encryption correctly.

    still puzzled.

    Windows Mobile Device Center error

Sync center will provide the synchronization required. You will need to reconfigure the sync. Follow these steps:

    1. Windows key + X > Control Panel > Sync Center
    2. Select Sync step
    3. Connect your device via USB
