script that searches for word documents .rtf and change the resolution of the images

Hi, I need an script that searches in a folder for word documents .rtf and change the resolution of the images. The problem is that I have a lot of .rtf files that are taking a lot of space because they have high resolution images. If I change the resolution of the images the file reduces it space about 97%. Please help me.Thank you.

    :)

    rtf. file

    Hi Michelle,

Some documents when saved takes up space due to its components. For us to help you with your concern, we'd like to know if your rtf file has images on it.

Meanwhile, if your rtf file has pure texts, we suggest that you follow the steps below to reduce the size of your rtf file:

    • Compose your rtf file in Microsoft Word.
    • Instead of saving, copy and paste your composition to WordPad. All the formatting is copied over too.
    • Save the document with WordPad, and you'll get a significantly smaller file.

    Let us know the results.

  3. MS Word RTF versions

    You could do this:

    • Preserve a machine that runs MS Word 2002
    • Connect it to the same network as the MS Word 2010 PC
    • Copy the files from the 2010 PC to the 2002 PC
    • Run the script to convert them from RT% 1.9 to RTF 1.6
    • Run your VB6 code on the converted files

What you see is common in installations that are allowed to fall too far behind. MS Word 2002 was withdrawn many years ago.

Wordpad documents being saved to Word

    Hi Mike

If RTF documents are opening in Word:

Right click an RTF document, choose 'Open With' - Choose Another App

Important - Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open xxx . . .'

If Wordpad is not in the list, scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

Wordpad should be in that list . . .

Choosing Wordpad form one of those lists will reset the file associations on RTF documents and they should then automatically open in Wordpad . . .
