Windows 10: Sd card files disappears and are moved onto a shortcut named "Sd Card 32gb"

When i try to plug in an sd card or usb to windows 7 SP1 all the files just disappear and get moved onto a shortcut when i look what is it it was moved into a invisible folder

Move apps between SD Cards

http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/forums/101801-feature-suggestions . This process of moving content from the SD card is something that can be done. In your case this looks to be an issue with the files being corrupted or steps being missed.

Since the process's we discussed here did not work for you consider the following if you make this change again some time. Move as many of the apps from your SD card to your phone storage as you can. Remove the SD card from your phone and insert the new
SD card. Move the apps on the phone storage to the new SD card and repeat the process. Each time you remove the SD card, be sure to follow the safe removal steps to further ensure you do not damage the files on the SD card.

SD Cards.

You will almost certainly be able to read the files on an SD card. Like a USB stick it will be partitioned and most likely formatted as Fat32 (or exFAT if larger than 32GB). I routinely put the SD from my camera in the PC to copy my photos from it. Windows sees it as just another removable drive, much the same as a usb stick.

However, judging by your user name this particular SD card holds navigation maps for an Opel Astra's satnav. While you almost certainly can see and copy the files on the SD card, you will not be able to make use of the map data, it will be in a format specifically for the satnav. There's no software to display the maps on a PC.

 

Pagefile on SD card

Hi

I have an Acer One 10 2-in-1 with 32 GB storage and 32GB SD card, and I am trying to move the pagefile to the SD to free up space on the main storage.
So I went to Advanced system settings Virtual Memory and disabled page file on C, and set it as System managed size on D (SD Card)

After rebooting or signing out I get this





The SD is formatted as NTFS, has enough free space and doesn't have any errors

Any help will be appreciated
