    SD Card keeps disconnecting and reconnecting


    Hi

    My SD card keeps disconnecting and and reconnecting on its own. Because of this I have lost very important pics of a event.

    When I try to use recovery software as well it does the same. SD card does not stay connected.

    Please let me know what steps to follow to fix the issue.

    This are very important pics from a photoshoot which I want to recover.


    Below are the recent updates installed on my laptop are:

    Security update for windows on 14/12/2018 - KB4471324 and on 13/12/2018 - KB4477137

    Security update for Adobe Flash Player on 06/12/2018, 20/11/2018 and 14/11/2018.

    SD card keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

    You need to downgrade your Realtek SD Card reader driver. Search for and download this. "Realtek_CardReader_Win10_V63960031213_WHQL" Uninstall the original driver and install this. This fixed my problem of disconnect/reconnect straight away. Beware, if
    Microsoft does a major update it may put the latest driver on again, so keep this file safe.

    Hi,

    unfortunately it seems I'm not able to uninstall each of the updates mentioned.

    KB3156421

    KB3163018

    Does anyone know whether there is a fix now found, or which update I CAN remove to solve the SD card disconnecting issue?

    As of today (2016-08-14) my SD card keeps on reconnecting every 2-3 mins.

    btw: my "up to date driver" of the SDHC is from 2006-06-21.

    Hope somebody can help, this is annoying as many others allready mentioned ...

    SD card keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

    I am REALLY annoyed by this. I bought an ASUS laptop recently and found that the SD card slot seemed to be very loose when it accepted a card. Then Windows started to disconnect and reconnect the card so often it would not let me transfer files from the
    card, but using an external reader worked. So I concluded that the SD card slot was faulty. I went through the hassle of replacing the laptop with an identical one, only to find the same symptoms, including the "loose" SD card slot. So, I returned the laptop
    and got a refund, deciding that it was a design fault. I have ended up spending £100 more on a similar spec Lenovo, the SD card slot is a lot more positive, so I thought the problem was solved. However, as I am typing this the card is disconnecting and reconnecting
    again.

    Then I find this thread.

    I have had to resort to carrying an external reader around with the laptop now. Definitely not happy.

    Microsoft, when are you going to fix this?
