  1. SD Card Locked with Bitlocker Encryption using a Smart Card

Good Day Microsoft Team,I have an SD Card that I had to lock with a smart card. I then had to get a new smart card and I can no longer unlock the SD Card as it does not recognize my new smart card. Is there a way to get the system to recognize my new smart card? I have the encryption certs from my old card however, it is a file on my computer and not the card itself. Anything that can be done to fix this would be greatly appreciated. With Gratitude,Chris

  2. How to encrypt a SD card without Bitlocker or TPM

I'm setting up a Windows 10 laptop for someone else.

They have a SDCard and we want to make sure it's only accessible on that machine.

The card will be holding synced Google Drive files so if it's lost there's no issue with data loss. The most important outcome is someone can't take the card out, put it in their machine and read the files.

Unfortunately the laptop doesn't have a TPM chip so Bitlocker will only run with the user entering another password (for Bitlocker) every time they want to use their laptop. This isn't ideal and I want to get around it if possible.

Are there any third party applications that will do what we're after? Or is there another method I can use?

I found this older question where "TrueCrypt" is suggested as a solution: Encrypt files on an SD card

However TrueCrypt is no longer maintained and recommends the use of Bitlocker.

    Any suggested solutions appreciated.

  3. sd card problem

    Hi,

If it shows on your PC that the SD card is locked by BitLocker, then it could be that the SD card has been encrypted. However, if you didn't encrypt it, then it could be that the SD card or the card reader is corrupted. Now, to determine if this is the case,
you can try using another card reader. You can also try connecting the SD card to your other devices and check if it's the same.

Let us know how this turns out for you.

SD Card Locked with Bitlocker Encryption using a Smart Card

SD Card locked by Bitlocker in L950

    There is no solution.

If you look on the phone where you turned encryption on, settings, update and security, device encryption.

In the SD card section it says the SD card content can be lost if the phone is reset while encryption is on.

You should have turned SD card encryption off before resetting the phone.
