Windows 10: SD Card reader not working on HP laptop after August 2019 windows 10 update?

cameras sd memory card is not recognised by laptop, nothing happens when I put it into the slot, get no error messsages, not showing on hidden icons. Have checked all settings and nothing shows up, device manager all ok? Can't find same problem on forum,

Was using with no issues up to recent windows 10 updates now cannot update listing on any of my shops, Disaster. Anyone have any ideas would be very grateful

SD card reader not working after 10586 1511 update


My HP laptop automatically got a new update today. Took almost 35 minutes to get it done. So far the only thing not working is my SD Card Reader. Anyone have any suggestions to get it working, I use it a lot! Hp was originally windows 7 and first windows 10 update was several months ago. The reader was working on that version of 10, not sure which one it was.

Still wondering if Windows 10 will ever recognize my built in SD card reader in my HP laptop? In Windows 7, I inserted my card and it would show everything. Now with Windows 10 it's like the SD port just dissapeared!!
I have been researching and nothing that was suggested has worked.
