  1. SD card reader stuck on write protection

I installed an SSD in my dad's Acer Aspire C24-760 last week.I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Home 64-bit, and reinstalled all of the official drivers. Now when I insert an SD card in the SD card slot, it is write-protected, and I can't delete a photo or format the item.I tried every SD card in the house, and all of them are unlocked and all of them do it, so it is related to Windows. Here is a screenshot of DiskPart with the "attributes disk" commandIt is stuck on " Current Read-only State: Yes"I tried everythingI reinstalled the driversI created a "WriteProtect" 32-bit DWORD key under&nb

    SD card write-protection unwanted

Just a suggestion to make sure before you write it off:
I have a SD card where the write protection tab is "loose" so that every time i insert it into a reader it moves to the "protect" position and when i pull it out, the tab moves back to the "write" position.
I ended up taping it in the write position with a small piece of tape.

    Edit:
Nevermind. I just realized you're asking about a micro SD.... My bad.

    Write Protected SD

    Hi Fred,

Write-protected SD card disables some functions in the SD card like installing new data, delete data or move data. We suggest checking if there is a small physical switch located on your SD to disable the write-protect. Also, you may try removing the write
protection thru the Properties of the drive. Open File Explorer > Right-click the SD card > Properties > Remove write-protection.

If the if two suggestion we provided didn't resolve the issue, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of the SD card for additional assistance on formatting your SD card.

Keep us in the loop with the result.
