Windows 10: SDELETE Purging MFT files 2933% complete and still going

I ran sdelete64.exe C: -c and now it says Purging MFT files 2933% complete. It's been running for hours and it's still going.Will it ever end? Is there a way to fix this if I run it again assuming it isn't currently in the process of turning my computer into a brick?

MFT, page file location on hard disk (physical)

MFT files contain internal information (data) about the "real" data stored on the volume.

The are normaly located at the Beginning of the "partition".

Also;

Resident Attributes: Attributes that require a small amount of storage space are stored within the file's primary MFT record itself.

Non-Resident Attributes: If an attribute requires more space than is available within the MFT, is not stored in that record, the attribute is placed in a separate location, with a pointer within the MFT that leads to the location of the attribute.

So a NRA MRT file could be located wherever it fits on the HDD.

 

Location of MFT and MFT Zone

Hi,

when system starts, ntfs.sys driver tries to allocate MFT zone just after last MFT fragment. If this is impossible MFT zone is located in any suitable place on disk.

Please note, MFT zone have no physical representation in file system terms, it exists only due ntfs.sys attempts to optimize possible MFT increasing.
