Windows 10: Seagate back up+ stopped working

Greetings Window Fends,

Ok here is what is going on I have a Seagate external+ HD 5t, then two other externals I got from my father that passed away. So while going through the hard drives shuffling what I want what I don't want all of sudden my primary one which is the 5t starts to **** out on me.


Here's the steps I did thus far: I did restart and reset my computer many times so keep this in mind while reading it

Plugged into all the USB ports on my desk top and my laptop and nothing seems to happen besides making the chime of something is plugged in.

Yet nothing pops up so I look in the my computer section its not there so I look in to my device management is there clear as day so I look in my disk management it isn't there. So then i unplug it plug it back in and it disappears from the device manage. and pops up in the disc management and says "unallocated" so I try right clicking to change the path and nothing happens but the also strange thing is when I look up top where it says all the drives that it found they only got the ones from the computer nothing from my external. So I unplug it plug it back in and then it lights up like its gonna do something and pops the error message of USB not working but i tried other cords and other drives in the same port and they work perfectly fine.


So any suggestions what I should do I would really hate to format the external if I can be helped there are somethings on there I can never get back due to I was using this as my permate back up?

Seagate Backup Plus 4TB drive with Windows 10 stopped working

• I had the same issue when I upgraded to Windows 10 platform from my ancient Windows XP.
  
• I tried all sorts but the PC was still failing to find the Seagate external drive.
  
• According to the Device Manager on my PC the Seagate driver was up to date and working fine, however that was far from reality.

The following is what worked for me:

• Leave your Seagate plugged into your PC
• Download the following Seagate driver: Seagate Support | Seagate Support Deutschland
• Once the file is downloaded click Run/Install
• When prompted to restart your PC, click Yes
• Once PC restarts, the Seagate motor will kick on and when you go to your PC file manager your Seagate will be there

After updating to win10 v1709, the following small screen appears above the system tray

(red X) Seagate DiskWizard

Scheduler service is stopped

resolve Problem

Clicking resolve problem does nothing. Suggestions?

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
