  1. Seagate Drive is showing up as "BACKUP+" and my drive isn't working

So a day ago I unplugged my drive from my computer, but unfortunately after plugging it back in I found that it's named Backup+ I have a BUP Slim BK and that it doesn't show it as a disk even though it's in the disk category in Device Manager. It also doesn't show in Disk Management. When I showed hidden icons I found my disk before I unplugged it, like this:In properties for BUP Slim it says the device is not plugged in and for the Backup+ it says it's working properly. I looked through many questions but none of them was able to give me the answer I needed to fix this issue.

Seagate Backup Plus 4TB drive with Windows 10 stopped working

Same problem with the Seagate Backup Plus drive. Reinstalling the Paragon drivers didn't work for me, nor did changing to generic USB drivers. Here's what worked for me:

Opened device manager and uninstalled the device

On the computer name at the top, I right clicked and selected Add Legacy Hardware

    Clicked Next

Selected "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list"

    Selected "Digital Media Devices"

    Next

    Choose Model "Digital Media Device"

    Next

On "The wizard is ready to install your hardware" finish up the prompts to complete the install

I think it scanned for the device and added it, but I may have scanned for hardware changes.

In the end, Device manager now shows a digital media device and Explorer shows the Seagate Backup Plus Drive where I can see my files.

After doing this, when I rebooted the computer I got a black screen that said "Bootmgr not found". When I disconnected the Seagate Backup drive it booted just fine. I plugged the drive back in, went into the BIOS and found the Seagate Backup drive first
in the boot order, I made it the last boot device. I can reboot now with the drive connected. So far things seem to be working.

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.
