Windows 10: Seagate External Hard Drive not working

I have been trying for several months to understand why my external drive is not working, there are no drive lights flashing although it is humming. I have checked it all out in Device Manager, etc and it recorded as healthy and running correctly. In frustration I have finally reformatted (successfully) the drive but still having problems. The minute I tried to use it my MSN site would not load, there is no Seagate Icon on the desktop, etc. Nothing has changed.

1. I would recommend you to check in Disk management, if the (Seagate) external hard drive is detecting in Disk management. Follow the below steps:

a. Press Windows Key + R and type diskmgmt.msc and hit
Enter.

b. Check if the system is detecting (Seagate) external hard drive and let us know.

2. What exactly happen when you try to access on the hard drive? Do you receive any error message/error code?

I should point out that I updated from Win 8 to Win 10 some time in September

To answer your questions;

Yes, I used the Seagate drive the previous day

No, the Seagate drive was not connected during the upgrade

The Seagate external hard drive is USB powered

The contents on the external Seagate hard drive are still intact and can been proven on another PC

I have a external WD hard drive which is still recognized post upgrade
