Windows 10: Seagate Mirra Access Issues

Discus and support Seagate Mirra Access Issues in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I have a 500G Seagate Mirra Personal BAck Up Server that I stopped using long time ago.     Seagate Mirra Access Issues


    I have a 500G Seagate Mirra Personal BAck Up Server that I stopped using long time ago. I want to extract the files out of it and port them to my cloud back up. I took the IDE hard drive out of the box and connected it to my laptop using a Unitek Y-3324 Converter. When I connect the IDE to the laptop via USB, I get the message about "Inserting a CD in the USB Drive".

    I changed the IDE drive name to Z and rebooted my laptop while the hard drive is connected. These steps did not solve my issues. Any other suggestions?

    Is widows 10 compatible with seagate freeagent external drives?

    I am not able to access my seagate freeagent external hard drive with windows 10. I installed the Seagate software on my surface pro 3, I can see the Seagate drive in windows explorer. However, when I open the Seagate manager no external drive is shown.
    Is windows 10 compatible with Seagate external drive?

    No luck at Seagate and think my simple 500GB Hardrive which worked on Windows 7 is not compatible with Windows 10.

    Seagate have not issued any software updates for this drive to work with W10.

    Tricky as currently tried 2 software packages and neither (although showing the drive on initial scan) can access the data.

    Welcome to the forum. A lot of their drives are encrypted and wont work without their firmware
