Windows 10: Search and Calendar simply refuse to work

My current information:Edition: Windows 10 ProVersion: 21H1OS: 19043.1081Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0I literally cannot type in search, nor can I open the Windows Calendar in the bottom right of the taskbar and it drives me insane. It all started with the update KB5003637. Clicking on the start menu, a loading icon briefly appears next to my cursor but I can't type anything. Similarly, cllicking on the Windows Calendar on the taskbar prompts the loading icon but no calendar emerges. Things I've tried:1 a week ago, uninstalling KB5003637 through wusa /uninstall /

So this helped us to understand that the issue is with in the Calendar app. So let's proceed with further troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Run Windows Store Troubleshooter

I suggest you to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run Windows Store troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search window and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Windows Store troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2:

If issue persists then there might be a chance that the Calendar app may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store. To get these app working again, you need to follow these steps:

• 
  Open powershell
  as administrator. Type PowerShell in the search box, right click on it and select
  run as administrator.
  
• 
  Run the command get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage
  
  
• 
  Re-install Calendar from Windows Store.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Mail and Calendar App refuses to launch

From the description provided, I understand that the Mail App refuses to launch in Windows.

To be able to understand the issue better, let us know if you receive any error messages related to the issue.

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check for the latest updates in Windows 10 which helps the PC to make optimal use of Windows 10 capabilities as well as fixing any missing links in performance of the operating system.

To check for updates now, go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select
Check for updates. If Windows Update says that your PC is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

If it still does not help, follow the below steps to reinstall the Mail App in Windows.

Step 1 Uninstalling the Mail App

  Press Windows key and type Powershell
  in search, right click on it and Open as administrator .
  
• 
  Type the following command in Powershell and hit enter:
  
  get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage
  

Step 2 Reinstalling the Mail App
