Windows 10: search bar and all search boxes fill up with # intermittently

My browser search bar and all search boxes fill up with # intermittently and prevents me from accessing information or logging in to anything. I have replaced the keyboard twice and performed a clean reboot, There seems to be very little information about this, can anyone help? This is a desktop PC running Windows 10

• 
  Right click on the task bar.
  
• 
  Go to Cortana.
  
• 
  Click on show search box.
  

Now check if you are able to find search box.

Search bar intermittently fills with 9's

Hello,

I tried the above suggestions but they didn't work or didn't apply.

This happens when I use any type of search bar, whether it's through google, netflix, youtube, search in task bar.... etc..

It doesn't happen every time, but intermittently.

I've run update searches and troubleshoots through windows and they haven't helped either.

Which is why I suggested he try there instead. TPU is too limited of a user base to search here alone for anything gaming related.
