Windows 10: Search bar crashing, built in apps not working/crashing

I recently got a new computer with windows 10 on it. I just started using it, but multiple problems occurred. First i tried using the sticky notes app - it could not open. I then rebooted the app by: Click start - settings - apps - find sticky notes - click on it and hit advanced options and then reset.That did not work and now the app is not showing up in settings - apps Same problem occurred with the microsoft store and have now also just disappeared from settings - apps In general it seems that most built in apps simply do not work / wont open / keep crashing when i run them. There are a lot of possible reasons why app crashes continuously and why the Start button does not work. To verify the cause of the issue on your end, we need to gather more information:

• Are you getting any error messages when those apps crash?
• Is the crash happening onset of opening those apps?
• Is it happening exclusively on Microsoft apps or even on third-party apps?
• If it’s just on Microsoft apps, is it happening to all of the apps?
• Have you made any recent changes prior to both issues?
• Were you able to use Start on the device before, or it hasn’t worked since?

Windows 10 Home Search not possible and Start menu crashes.

It's working now!

I had the same issue for several weeks now: the search bar wouldn't open, and the search bar within File Explorer wouldn't even let me type either. At the same time, when scrolling for apps in the Start menu, Start would crash.

I followed the steps suggested here by Paul Abayon, and it was step number three the one that worked for me and the problem is solved.
