Windows 10: Search Bar feature not working on my brand new Windows 11

Hi,I purchased a brand new laptop few months back, it came with installed Windows 11. I can no longer search installed apps in search bar. If I type any app name it shows web results rather than installed apps. I tried raising support ticket and it is closed without any resolution and no replies from official Microsoft support. I saw many faced similar issues in past but no latest thread on this about any proper solutions. I have installed all updates which were available and my laptop is uptodate. Below screen shot shows what windows show me when I type "word" in search bar.

I am having issues with my Windows 11 Search function. I notice when I open my search bar I start to type it freeze then drops.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Everything is up to date.

Search bar in windows 11 does not work

Ever since I downloaded windows 11, I can't use the windows search bar to search for files.

I have too many files to not have the ability to use the search.

I've tried everything that the virtual assistant suggested.

Does anybody know how I can reinstall it or fix it?

I'm pretty desperate right now.

By the way it wont let me add a new user either. Which was suggested if I add a new admin then the search bar would come back. But can't add a new user at all

 

Windows 10 Search Bar Not Working November 2021

Hello. Had a new version of Windows placed on my PC after a major hardware change. Windows 10 Pro - Version 21H1 - Build 19043.1348.

Problem is the search bar by the start button does not work so I am unable to search at all, no text can be written in the box, and if I try a black box appears then disappears just as quickly. Originally Cortana didn't work either, bizarrely saying "English" isn’t supported in the region although that seems now to work.

I have tried every single suggestion online bar the registry change suggestion re stopping the link between BING and the search bar but I refuse to tinker with the registry or reinstall as this is a brand new installation of Windows done in November 2021 and the product should work.

One thing I would say is whilst researching this issue "SearchUI.exe" seems to come up in conversation a lot but that doesn't appear at all in my list of services. The closest I have is "search app.exe" which appears as suspended and disabled.

Can someone please advise., I notice this isn't a rare issue and surely Microsoft should have fixed this by n ow?
