    Search bar has white text when you type, and prediction words are green.

    Predictive texting

    Hi Tina,

    In most cases, this issue with predictive text could have happened due to the application you are using. To resolve this issue, we would like to know more about the issue by asking the following questions below:

    • In what application are you using predictive text?
    • What is the last action taken before this issue happens?
    • Have you attempted to perform any of the troubleshooting?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • On the Cortana search box, type Typing Settings and press
      Enter.
    • Turn off Autocorrect misspelled words and Highlight misspelled words.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Do steps 1 and 2 but this time turn on Autocorrect misspelled words
      and Highlight misspelled words.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Check if the issue still exists.


    Update us with the result so we can further assist you.

    6234: Selecting Word Suggestions on predictive text

    HI there

    I have a Nokia 6234 and according to the user guide, I should be able to select Word Suggestions on predictive text. However I've been looking at all the possible menu options and haven't found this yet.

    When writing a message, if I press Options, of the 17 items that are listed, only one of them concerns prediction and that is "Prediction off" (or "Prediction on" depending on what text writing mode the phone is in at that time). There is no Prediction sub-menu
    as the user guide seems to suggest, and I haven't seen any menu item called "Word suggestions"

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your response and suggestion. The referral that you provided was clear and straightforward, however it only addressed the spellchecker and did not have any effect on the text prediction dictionary where I was hoping to be able to access.

    To clarify, I constantly type a 13 letter last name on my laptop by using a mouth operated mouse (not voice recognition), for the On Screen Keyboard. When I get to the 4th letter, the text prediction shuts off, and I have to finish typing the whole word.
    Frustrating!

    Such words used to be added to text prediction after typing them several times.... but not now.
