Windows 10: Search Bar is bringing up Microsoft Edge instead of the local folder through Windows Explorer

I.E., If i search taxes and it finds my files labeled taxes and I click on it, it brings up Microsoft Edge onedrive versus the local onedrive file



Anyone know how to fix this?

Cortana search opens Internet Explorer instead of Microsoft Edge

I searched something to the Cortana search bar and normally it should bring up Microsoft Edge right? But instead, it opens Internet Explorer. How do I fix this?

I would suggest that you clear the data of Edge and check if the issue persist. To do so follow the steps below:

• Navigate to the location:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbw

• Delete everything in this folder.
• Restart Microsoft Edge and check.

With respect to issue that you are facing with Steam I would suggest that you contact the developer as we do not support third part application.

How to change the default search engine in Microsoft Edge

These instructions are outdated- my Microsoft edge no longer has the "Add New" button for search engines

Instead of I try to follow the instructions, there is only a button to change the search engines which then brings you to only two options - bing or youtube.

If you uninstall Microsoft edge or try it with a new computer where you haven't saved any search engines like google for the search bar, you'll see what I see
