Windows 10: Search defaults to Bing Browser

Sorry if this has been answered- here goes from new Win 10 install:

I type in the search box and the default browser is Bing, I've tried a lot of the 'solutions' to try and change the default to Chrome. This is what I've done:

1) Changed default browser in Settings>System>Default Apps>Google Chrome
2) Uninstalled AND reinstalled Chrome
3) Installed Chrometana Extension

I have NOT tried the Registry solution yet.

Any help is much appreciated

Removing Bing as default search engine.

We appreciate the prompt response. In this case, let us check your browser settings and ensure that
Bing is removed as the default search engine. To do this, follow these steps:

• Open your Firefox browser.
• Click the Menu icon or the 3 bars icon.
• Select Options.
• Select Search.
• Under Default Search Engine, select your preferred search engine from the drop down list.
• Once you're done, close the search tab and check if the issue persists.

Default Bing search on Web Browser

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Bing search on Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

Does this issue occurs on Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge browsers?

This issue might occur if you have set Bing as homepage on Firefox browser.

I suggest you to change the Homepage (Homepage is referred to the first page you see when you open your Browser. Also know as default page or startup page) of your browser and check if it resolves the issue.

To do so, contact Mozilla Firefox Support for further assistance.

To change the default search engine on Windows Edge.

Step One: Open Microsoft Edge

Step Two: type in the search engine into the browser address such as (www.google.com)

Step Three: Click on the three dots top right below the x (close button)

Step Four: Click on settings

Step Five: Scroll and click on Advance Settings

Step Six: Scroll to Search in the address bar with click within the box

Step Seven: Click on Add NEw

Step Eight: Your search engine should be listed Click on it

Final Step: select your choice of:
