Windows 10: Search engine hi-jack virus takes browser to Yahoo search engine

HiRunning widows 11.I seem somehow to have picked up a virus which takes my browsers to the Yahoo search engine regardless of what I have set as default. This happens with both Edge and Chrome browsers.Windows defender does not find it in a full scan. I was wondering if anyone had found a free anti-virus scanner which detects this one. Or if Microsoft might make Defender detect this virus.I can try to provide any other details required, I just can't think of any - please ask me if you think you could help.ThanksMike A

Changing search engines . . .

Hi, I am Van. I'll be glad to assist you today.

You will need to add the Yahoo search engine extension before setting it as the default search engine. Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Open the Firefox browser then click the three-line menu at upper right corner of the browser then select "Add-ons and themes.

2. Type "Yahoo search engine" without the quote in the search bar.

3. Select "Search and New Tab by Yahoo" from the list then click the Add to Firefox button.

4. Once done, go to the default search engine option. Yahoo should now be on the list.

Hi

This probably, strictly speaking, a Windows 10 issue but, hopefully, someone out there can help me. Somehow I seem to have acquired a Yahoo search engine that keeps appearing in my Firefox browser. Can anyone tell me a foolproof way of deleting it? I have tried all the conventional ways but the program doesn't appear in the program list, nor does it appear when I do a search on the computer (via the bottom left hand panel). Any suggestions?

My computer, is a Dell laptop. Running, Windows 10.

My two browsers are, Google and Firefox.
When I search, with Firefox. It uses, Google.

I would like to use, Yahoo. As the search engine,
for Firefox.

But I don't see, Yahoo. Listed, as the option?
So how can I have, Yahoo. As the search engine, for Firefox?
