Windows 10: Search function unable to be added to Task Bar even after following directions to adjust...

Makes no sense. When I right click on the task bar and get menu of selections, there is NO selection option that appears for search bar. I followed the directions to adjust small icons on task bar and for most people apparently this does the trick. NOTHING. All I want to be able to do is see a search bar on my Taskbar like every other computer has.

Get Search the web and Windows back on task bar

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and the search bar is not on my task bar. When I right click on the task bar Search is not one of my options as the directions above suggest. I have the Cortana Circle, but would rather have the search bar. Any help
is appreciated.

 

My search is not functioning

1. Use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open the Task Manager.
2. If you see only a handful programs listed by it click on the "more details" link.
3. Locate "Cortana" under background processes.
4. Right-click on the process and select "end task" from the context menu.

The Cortana process is reloaded right away by the operating system.

Cannot modify Task Bar settings

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

• Right click on the Task Bar.
• Uncheck the option " Lock the Taskbar."
