Windows 10: search highlights icon on search bar missing and the search highlights are also missing

Hello I need your help . So recently I no longer recieve the search highlight when I update my windows yesterday it came back but then when I disabled web search by mistake and reactivated it didn't come back. I tried regedit by follwong tenforums steps , I tried local group policy I even tried to reboot my computer. the restore point are non existent sadly . I tried to create a new user and it was succesful however when I disabled again websearch and reactivated it didn't come back so that's obviously an issue with windows or a recent update.my Windows version is Windows 10 22h2 19045.5487 ,

Search Highlights icon on search bar missing

Hello to all,

I've been having issues with my search bar icon and Bing highlights. After an update on my laptop, which was stuck in 100% and could not move, I turned on and off my laptop to "prevent" the update from taking a long time and not wanting to proceed. On the next login, and on a pristine internet connection, I suddenly realized the highlights icon on the search bar has gone away!

After countless updates, I am still trying to figure out why the highlights icon has vanished from the search bar, despite having tried everything.

I use Windows 10 64-bit 22H2 version according to the latest update.

What I have tried, is listed as:

- disabling search highlights from Settings

- trying the sfc /scannow command

- constantly updating, because of device being idle for a long time to "show" the icon up

- resetting search feature through Windows 10 Settings -> Apps & features

- restarting the Windows Search services on Services window

- turning off & on laptop

- rebooting laptop

...none of this helps!

My laptop specs, are listed under:

- 8GB of RAM Memory

- 512 GB SSD (change 07/2021)

- AMD Radeon R7 M445

- Intel Core I5 2.50 GHz 7th Gen

My search bar, now looks like this





... instead of an icon showing up for the highlight of the day.

I cannot hover over the icon position to "show" it up, all I get is the text cursor instead of the default mouse one.

Meanwhile the search panel, shows the highlight normally!





When I try to right click on the taskbar, on the "Search" category, the "Show search highlights" option is not showing up at all.

It looks like this once I right-click it.





None option shows up.

Please let me know what is wrong, any assistance or feedback is openly appreciated.

EDIT 1: Restarted my laptop, issue still persists

EDIT 2: Tried to hide search panel and turn off highlights; then turned them back on & still same issue

EDIT 3: I killed the task on task manager and icon still will not show up... Only highlight on search panel, NOT the icon standalone

I understand. In this case, I recommend waiting a few days first because it might just be a recent bug and the Search highlights might appear again.
