Windows 10: "Search" Process Appeared out of Nowhere. Other Programs Negatively Impacted Since Appaearance.

I'm well aware of the other posts that show this. But since when was this a thing and why is it just now showing up? Since this process has started showing up, other programs on my PC mainly games have been negatively impacted in ways of forced restarts and internet disconnection. I've seen it's Cortana related. I don't use Cortana nor Bing for anything. I've also seen it's being used to index files but I genuinely do not trust it. How can I turn this off/ get rid of it completely? People who make this OS, can you not make shady things like this please?

Programs Appearing in the Start Menu Do Not Appear When Searching

Thank you for your suggestions! Unfortunately, none of the steps resolved my issue. In Safe Mode and in a Clean Boot, the programs still did not appear in search, and System File Checker found no issues.

 

My search is not functioning

1. Use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open the Task Manager.
2. If you see only a handful programs listed by it click on the "more details" link.
3. Locate "Cortana" under background processes.
4. Right-click on the process and select "end task" from the context menu.

The Cortana process is reloaded right away by the operating system.

• • Are you facing this issues with only specific software or any other software?
    
  • Which version of Windows are you currently using?
    
  • Was Stream labs OBS working fine prior to this issue?
    
  • Are both monitors set on the same resolution?
    

I suggest you follow the steps below to fix your issue:

Method 1.
Check in the task manager if the program is still running and kill the process and relaunch the application. Tap on Ctrl+Shift+ESC simultaneously> right click on the task>click on end task to kill the process.

Method 2.
I suggest you to
update your Windows, refer the following link to
update Windows.

Method 3.
I would also suggest you to
reinstall the software and check if that helps. Please reply back with the information so that we can help you fix your issue.
