Windows 10: Searchable tags/labels on photographs

Hi


I have a lot of photographs stored on my PC that I have sorted into appropriate year files, but I would like to put a tab on the individual photo's file details of events, people's names or place names that are easily searchable.


Is this possible? There is a "tags" column in explorer, but when I attempt to add anything to the photos right click - properties - details - tags when I click on it, nothing happens.


Is it a setting somewhere? Or would I have to start using the windows photo app instead?

Unable to find photographs in OneDrive

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to see the Photographs that are uploaded in OneDrive. I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if you are able to find the files:

1. Login to
   https://onedirve.live.com with your Microsoft account.
   
2. Check for the folders or files that are uploaded.
   

If you are unable to find the photographs, I suggest you to get in touch with the OneDrive support team.

Sign in to OneDrive.com from any browser, click the ‘?’ help icon on the top banner of the page and select
Email OneDrive support. Submit your question and follow the prompts to request support.

master tag list

I am hoping to see a master tag list that is sortable, searchable and editable return to Windows at some point. I came here looking for some threads on the topic of tags and how to search and sort through them across windows and found some answers. One thread
suggested someone post their topic of concern in the feedback hub so that it could gain some interest in the community. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the feedback hub so I'll make a post and perhaps it can get moved to there?

I'm starting to add tags to photos, videos and music files, and eventually plan for documents and such. When adding some tags there are a handful of pre-populated "suggestions" that come up but not nearly all the tags I've entered come up as suggestions.
Not sure why. But it would be nice to be able to tag your files and have a good way to search across your system for any and all files that are tagged "clouds," or whatever, for example.

Oh and I saw some people post about third party apps or software that will do this, but I didn't see any specific apps or programs mentioned. Any suggestions welcomed!

Thanks for taking the time out to read my post and again, if I need to post it somewhere else, please let me know where and I'll make sure it gets there as this topic is important to me.

Ok First off the basic structure of folders ...





And the tags (here is the Where Section for one of the files above [ I work on the old system of he Ws for tag groups, which are in the form of trees of related tags - Who, What, When, Where Why] )

Of course this system and the tags and folders have grown over time so now tagging is simply a case of ticking boxes, and usually with multiple images selected - LR also has a section which shows you recently used tags which makes things a case of simple clicks
