Windows 10: searchapp.exe can use more memory resources than Defender and Edge? How can I remove...

Hi, I have previously been able to suspend and disable Windows Search searchapp.exe so it uses 0 system resources on my machine. It appears after recent updates the way I stopped this process no longer works and other ways I searched online have not worked in stopping process.While Search is suspended in my task manager, in the Resource Monitor memory processes searchapp.exe is using more memory than Windows Defender and Microsoft Edge. When ordering my processes by the most memory being used it is either top of the list or close to it at all times. Can someone assist in removing or disa

Ran out of memory and Edge

I frequently get a notification that I have run out of memory when running Chrome. (Running Windows 10 32-bit with 4GB RAM. I've tried recommended solutions such as emptying cache, but the only thing I've found that fixes the issue is to reboot. I ran the Windows Resource Monitor app and found that 3 Edge exe files are consuming lots of memory. This blew my mind because I uninstalled Edge and it mo longer shows up in the app list of uninstallable programs. Can anyone explain what is going on and how to wipe my computer of Edge once and for all?

If this is not the issue you have encountered and you are a new user of Windows Defender, go to Security and Maintenance, look in 'Security' and see
what program is listed under Virus Protection. Windows Defender will not be enabled and functioning properly if there is a program other than Windows Defender listed.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
