Windows 10: Searching for a special Finger Print Reader that supports Windows 10

Hello,



so I am searching for a Fingerprint reader that does just paste a string to a text field or whatever.

My problem is, I want to login to a program via biometrics, the problem is that the program does not support that or supports Windows Hello. (Also I cant add the support to it.)

So I was wondering if somebody knows a reader that pastes the password from the user that just scanned his/her finger to a text field.

Also it should be able to store about 15 different IDs and strings/passwords, so it should have a little database from which it gets then the according password and such stuff.

All the Computers are running Windows 10 but as already said, the program does not support Windows Hello.

finger print reader

Go to HP's support website and do a search for your particular model of laptop. It should have drivers/app for your finger print reader. If they don't have Windows 10 version, try Windows 8 or Windows 7.

Finger Print Reader now Inoperative

I have had issues with the finger print reader previously but have been able to get it working again, either by itself or performing suggested functions, which I no longer remember. I have a Thinkpad T470 with Windows 10. In the sign-in options, my computer
no longer recognizes finger print reader as an option. What's going on????

Method 1: Run the hardware device troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows key and type troubleshooting in the search bar.
  
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Update the finger scanner drivers.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
• Expand Human Interface Devices.
• Right click on your finger scanner device.
• Click on Update Driver Software
  and follow the onscreen instructions.
