Windows 10: Searching for compatible windows/asus wi-fi drivers...

It seems like this is a common issue hint hint microsoft, FIX IT ALREADY, it's been 5 years... I got an asus rog G751JT windows 10 64 bit craptop I mean laptop with all sorts of wi-fi issues, tl;dr I need COMPATIBLE drivers. No, not the ones from intel tried, don't work or asus can't even install, I mean ones that WORK --> hint hint, it has to WORK. No, you can keep your spam copy-paste reply about hurr durr did you try updating windows, of course I did, I formatted, again and again, I installed and reinstalled various versions of various drivers, none work.


Computer stutters hard including audio, wi-fi drops. Sometimes happens every few hours. Sometimes every 1-5 minutes. Something to do with bad drivers, I don't know which ones, maybe wi-fi, maybe other drivers, I can't figure out which one and which version is compatible.


Any of you victims of asus, or other laptops with the unfortunate intel dual band AC-7260 NGW that found a fix for this?


Also yes, I know ethernet works, I can't use it. No, I tried resetting the router. Yes, it works on the phone. No, it's not the router, it's not this router and it wasn't the other 10 routers that I used at various places in england, germany and romania over the past 5 years.


I JUST NEED DRIVERS THAT WORK. I am willing to pay for this otherwise this craptop is going in the bin.

We suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the hardware troubleshooter.

• Type in search bar as control panel.
• Then select troubleshooting.
• Click on hardware and sound option.
• Then click on “hardware and devices “and follow the on screen instructions.

Method 2: Uninstall the network drivers.

• Press Windows+X and select “Device manager”.
• Then expand the Network adapters.
• Right click on the driver and uninstall it.
• Go to the manufacturer's website to download the network drivers, install it and check if the issue persists.

Method 3: Install the Wi-Fi router drivers in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

• Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.
• Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.
• Select “Compatibility” Tab.
• Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.
• Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Is it on Windows 8's compatibility list (check MS website- forgot link)?

I had an issue with one Wi-fi adapter and it wasn't listed as compatible- All was well when I swapped it out with one on the compatibility list

• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.
