second attempt for WIN 10 upgrade 1511

I have downloaded the original WIN10 from WIN7 earlier in October. I missed the November WIN10 upgrade to 1511 because I didn't have 31 days on WIN10 yet. Does anyone know when the second attempt will be in December? I don't want to do it myself, but just wait for the upgrade via Windows Update. Thanks. *Smile

Cannot update to Windows 10 Version 1511 Build 10586

    Hi,

I downloaded this and upgraded an image of Win 8.1 Pro to Win 10 Pro Build (1511) 10586 without issues... I used the Virtual Drive to run the ISO...

Hopefully your next attempt will go as smoothly...

I probably should have asked before, but what Windows version is it that you are trying to upgrade to Win 10 Build (1511) 10586 ?

Has the "log-in" issue after Upgrade to Windows 10 been resolved?

I've attempted to upgrade to Windows 10 with my desktop PC two times. After both installations I have been forced to return to my Windows 8.1 Pro build each time. The upgrade completes then will not accept my Windows password. The password is correct as
I can use it on another Windows 10 device. The first attempt was shortly after Win 10's debut. The second was after the Version 1511 update. Can anyone confirm that Microsoft has resolved this issue or the community has provided a guaranteed solution?

See link below, go to download tool now which should give you option to upgrade or clean install w/o waiting to latest version. Otherwise do not know when it will be available thru Windows Update for you...

    Hi,

Or download the .ISO file directly from :

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/techbench

Just keep in mind that Windows 10 includes both Home and Pro and that English-International actually means UK English. (Which was news to me too *Huh)

    Best, *Wink

I actually read and comprehended the question you posted twl845, that you'd rather not do it yourself and are willing to wait for the upgrade via windows update.

I believe it will be offered to you via windows update after 31 days, there's not a rollout, it's an update that'll show up for you after 31 days.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. CMMTch, Should I assume it's 31 days from when I did the upgrade to WIN10? Thanks again.

Yes, that's what I would figure, I'd start looking for it as an update, on windows update on/after the 31st day since you upgraded to W10.

And IMO you're not really missing anything, to me there's not anything noticeably different from ver. 10240 to TH2 1511, but we don't want to fall too far behind (speaking for myself) My desktop so far has refused to upgrade via windows update so I will probably upgrade using an iso I've downloaded and created a bootable USB for.

    Good luck

    Something is not right.

    Today is Dec 12th.
It's more than 42 days since you installed Win 10.
If you still do not get version 10586 from Windows Update, something is amiss.

Well, I figure the 10586 came out on around November 11th and I didn't have 31 days at that time, and they said somewhere it would be available again in December. So, I'll get concerned at the end of the month.

As long as you are eligible to upgrade to a newer version, namely 10586, you should get it from Windows Update.
There is not time limit before which you must update.
The fact that you don't see it in Windows Update does not make sense.
That's what I am pointing at.

Hi Wildone, If I decide to just download the v10528 from your link above, can I just do the download rather than create an ISO? I have the original WIN10 already installed. Also, I have 2 snapshots of my WIN10 and one snapshot of the WIN7 I came off of on my Raxco Instant Recovery App, so if i need to retreat, I can.

Something you probably do not know.
The "snapshots" you have is for the older version, probably 10240.
You need the most current one which is 10586.
That is why you should download the iso which contains version 10586.

Right. My problem is I don't know what I'm doing with respect to creating an ISO. I figure if I download the new version OK, I'll update my snapshot to V10528 right away so I'll have a spare snapshot. If the download tanks for some reason, I can retreat to my v10240.
