  2. Wallpaper Troubles after upgrading the computer to Windows 10

    Hi Garett,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you face issues with the second monitor, if the second monitor is connected to the same graphics card, try to update the graphics drivers and update the chipset drivers from the manufacturer website.

If the monitors are connected to different graphic cards, try updating the graphic drivers to the card which second monitor is connected to and check.

    Hope this information helps.

I've got 2 monitors, and when i plug the second one in, both of them go black.

The main monitor is connected with HDMI to the graphics card.

The second monitor is connected with VGA, which is adapted to DIV-I double link, to the graphics card.

    Second Graphic Card.

Depends on what you want it for. For SLI you need exact same one as old.

I may be taking this too literally, but it doesn't have to be the same make.

The GPUs have to be the same, and the amount of video RAM on the cards must be the same. The cards can be from different manufacturers, and have different hardware IDs.

I did this personally, although I've gone back to a single 970 in that system. It has been a while, but, if memory serves, both cards were "reference" designs, with essentially identical hardware.

I don't recall how long nVidia has enabled this in their drivers, but it has been years.

Actually it's only GPU (processor itself) that have to be same, BIOS should have same settings but memory altogether will that of lower one if different.

    Second Graphic Card.

I think you're correct, although the link that I posted says that the VRAM amounts must match. (The 970 is far from a low-end card, of course.)

I wonder about VRAM types, although I doubt that the low-end cards that use different types are SLI capable.

Might have changed, been a while since I had Nvidia in SLI, mostly AMD last 2 or 3 GPUs.
