Windows 10: Second instance of fonts folder showing up in AppData\Local folder

While using NexusFont, I noticed that most of my fonts are showing up twice. Further investigation showed me the following related to font locations in my computer new laptop; Windows 11:1. In addition to the regular C:\Windows\Fonts folder, fonts are being stored in this folder: C:\Users\MYUSERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FontsI am not intentionally saving them there. When I download a font and select "install for all users," it appears to save only in the main fonts folder, C:\Windows\Fonts, but if I slide a font into the Fonts folder to install it that way, it also copies to t

I found ghost fonts in this folder, maybe it can helf anyone

Downloaded Fonts That are not in Windows\Font Folder

I have downloaded Fonts recently and can see them in my Font Settings, however, they are not actually in the C:\Windows\Fonts folders and not available to use in my applications. I can see in the Fonts Settings that they are in C:\USERS\OWNER\APPDATA\LOCAL\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\FONTS\...

Is there some work around? I was able to get to the AppData folder by entering %appdata% in the Search window, however, when I went to copy the file to the Windows\Font folder it said it was already there.

Yes Pierre! I'm like you - 30+ years in IT systems development - and it still astounds me that MS can screw up a task that used to be so simple. Right click on a new font file, select install, go to you app (Word of whatever), select your new font the type!!
Simple!!

By the way I'm on the very latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build that was only upgraded by MS in the past couple of days. But I have no idea when this font problem with Windows 10 started.
