Windows 10: Second monitor, has only 3 resolution options.

Issue: Hi, I have the HP omen laptop. The laptop monitor supports many different resolutions and aspect ratios. However, my second, Samsung monitor, which I use as the main monitor has only 3 resolution options. Since two of the options do not even have the correct aspect ratio, this makes it very frustrating to adjust the resolution to enhance performance. The monitor and laptop are also both fairly new. Now wondering if there is a way to get more resolution options. Things tried: I have tried updating the display drivers, using the device manager, but did not find newer drivers. Tried implem

Second monitor screen resolution problem

Correct monitor display resolution unlisted when second monitor is connected

I am attempting to connect my laptop (Dell Inspiron) to a dual monitor arrangement (one 1920x1080, and an ultrawide 3440x1440). When either single monitor is connected, the display resolution is correct and everything works well. However when connecting the second monitor, the resolution of the ultrawide reduces to 1920x1080, with no option to increase this. 3440x1440 is also not displayed in the 'list of valid modes' accessed under advanced display--> display adapter properties --> List all modes.





I have checked graphics, and display adapter drivers and confirmed that the most up-to-date is installed. I have performed multiple system restarts, but I'm confused why the problem only occurs when a second monitor is connected. The correct 3440x1440 resolution option is available and works well when the ultrawide is the only monitor in use.

Everything worked great until I moved my computer. Now, I can not change the resolution on my second monitor. I am using

Windows 10. The resolution bar, only on monitor #2, is greyed out. I tried switching the monitors but either one is stilled greyed out when used as #2. Monitor #1's resolution can be changed , no problem.
